MISTI-Israel Retreat
All of the MIT interns in Israel met in early July (yes, I am that late in writing this) for a couple of days to travel around Israel, meet many interesting people, and learn more about the region and its history. Although it only lasted like 5 days, each day was super packed, so it could take me at least 3 posts to discuss everything we did and my thoughts. But to conserve time and energy (both mine and yours) I will discuss the trip via pictures. Enjoy.
Caesarea's national park
Aqueduct that leads to Caesarea
Amphitheater at Caesarea where I attended an Idan Raichel concert
Great view of Jerusalem, I think I will be living by those tallish buildings behind the Dome of the Rock
We had a discussion with a member of a local, young political party in Jerusalem
We toured the Old City, here we are chilling/cooking on a roof
Part of the Via Dolorosa, the fifth station
Inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher
We stayed at this hostel one night
Baha'i Gardens in Haifa
The gardens are beautiful and must cost a lot to maintain
We toured the German Colony in Haifa, you can see the Baha'i Gardens in the background
We also went to a Druze village for dinner and a discussion
The Druze food was tasty and they have an interesting religion
We also visited a huge biogas plant, I loved it because it is what my project is about
At the end of the trip I went to Be'er Sheva and stayed with Cesar
Finally made it back home
